Research Administration Awards

Celebrating research administrators across NSW Health

NSW Health has a highly skilled workforce of over 100 research administrators who play a crucial role in ensuring patients have access to high quality research and clinical trials.

Since 2024, we have celebrated and showcased this profession annually on Research Administration Day (25 September) to inspire others to explore opportunities within NSW Health.

2025 awards

In 2025, NSW Health celebrated the second NSW Health Administrator Awards with four awards that recognised customer service, innovation and leadership. The theme was ‘the spark behind every discovery’. During the month of September, we sponsored a range of activities to highlight the important and innovative work of research administrators.

Research Administrator Appreciation Day

The National Council of University Research Administrators submitted the proposal for National Research Administrator Day in August 2015 to the US National Day Calendar. Following this submission, 25 September was officially declared as National Research Administrator Day in the US.  Since then, many research institutions internationally have adopted Research Administrator Day making it a globally recognised day.
