Health and Innovation Precincts

Driving innovation through collaboration, enhancing local connections for global impact

NSW is home to Australia’s only integrated network of Health and Innovation Precincts—uniquely designed to foster collaboration across health, education, research, and industry. These precincts bring together co-located organisations to tackle complex health challenges and co-design solutions that are locally grounded and globally relevant.

Built on significant infrastructure investment, the precincts accelerate the translation of research into practice, drive innovation, and deliver system-wide impact. They are central to achieving the goals of the NSW Health Research and Innovation Strategy and contribute to the success of the broader health and innovation ecosystem.

Precincts accelerate the translation of research into practice, drive innovation, and deliver system-wide impact.

We support this high-impact network through:

  • a dedicated Precincts Network team that supports strategic alignment and collaboration across the state
  • the NSW Health Research and Innovation Navigator which connects emerging opportunities with the most suitable precincts to activate the right capabilities and deliver targeted, outcome-driven solutions across the state.

Health and Innovation Precincts are a strategic priority for NSW Health, positioning the state as a globally recognised destination for research investment, cross-sector collaboration and innovation-led health transformation.
