The Health and Medical Research Sponsorship Program offers sponsorship grants to support health and medical research events held in NSW.
Applications for round 12 of the Program are open and will close on 11:59pm AEDT Sunday 24 November 2024.
The Program supports NSW Health’s commitment to advancing and translating research and innovation, and to equip people with the skills and capabilities needed to be an agile and responsive workforce.
Previous rounds of the Program have successfully supported a broad spectrum of events to grow the health and medical research ecosystem.
An internal review of the Program identified that new, smaller and emerging events can have a real impact on building our sector’s research capability and capacity, but would benefit from tailored opportunities to apply for and access funding support. That is why, for the first time in 12 rounds of the Program, this round will be targeted to new and emerging events that build research capacity and capability.
The Office for Health and Medical Research is also developing future approaches to support and sponsor events that are more strategic in nature or are with the Office’s key collaborative partners.
About the Program
- The Office for Health and Medical Research supports events to be held in 2025 in NSW that align with the health and medical research priorities outlined in ‘Future Health: Guiding the next decade of health care in NSW 2022-2032’, NSW Health’s health and medical research mission and strategy, and/or other NSW Health published strategies.
- Eligible applicants can apply for up to $10,000 (excluding GST).
- The Program focus for 2025 is to support events that are new or emerging, including those with an emphasis on building reputation and making an impact in the sector, with a core goal to build health and medical research capacity, capability, and collaboration.
- Applications are assessed by a review panel on a case-by-case basis against set assessment criteria. The review panel includes representatives from the NSW public sector, who may draw on external subject matter experts as required.
